Pilates Retreat South Africa 2006

We will be holding our second pilates retreat to South Africa. Read on for details! 

Day 1 - Saturday


Arrive at Cape Town International Airport. You will be collected by luxury air conditioned mini bus (15 seater) with qualified English speaking guide. A scenic 3 hour drive takes you to De Hoop Nature Reserve.

The afternoon will be spent relaxing at Buchu Bushcamp  enjoying some refreshments on the deck or taking in the views and tranquility while settling into the thatched chalets.

Our first sumptuous dinner will be enjoyed under the african sky!

Day 2 - Sunday


Rest Day 1: Start your day with a pilates class in the morning. Breakfast will be enjoyed out on the deck at the bushcamp. The rest of the day will be spent at leisure at the De Hoop Beach.

Lunch will be provided at the bush camp, or as a picnic at Koppie Alleen overlooking the beach.

The rest of the day will be spent at leisure walking the various trails, bird watching, snorkeling, cycling or lying by the beach or the pool. We will round the day off with a pilates class in the evening with dinner at the buschcamp.

Day 3 - Monday


Excursion 1: A pilates class bright and early, followed by breakfast on the deck, finishing in time for an excursion to Cape Agulhas. We will visit the southern most tip of Africa and all the sights along the way. Lunch out at Agulhus Lighthouse*

After returning to the bushcamp we will enjoy a pilates class in the evening. Dinner  at the bushcamp and relaxing enjoying drinks on the deck, finishes off the day.

Day 4 - Tuesday

Excursion 2: A morning pilates class followed by breakfast at bushcamp.

The day will be spent at De Hoop Nature reserve on a guided tour, veiwing the various game (Eland, Bontebok, Zebra etc) birds (hopefully a glimpse of the endangered Cape Vulture and Blue Crane) plants (including some that only occur here and no where else on earth) and different aspects and history of this fascinating reserve.
Lunch will be a picnic at Koppie Alleen watching the dolphins frollicking in the bay.

An evening pilates class and a leisurely dinner at the bushcamp.

Day 5 - Wednesday


Excursion 3: We start with a pilates class  first thing, followed by another delicious Cape breakfast at the Bushcamp 

We visit the beautiful historic town of Swellendam going via the last remaining hand pulled ferry across the river. We include a visit to a working farm to see (and perhaps ride?) ostriches and wine tasting. We will have lunch out at one of Swellendam\'s  many  good restaurants* followed by shopping for gifts and souvenirs.

We will have a pilates class  back at camp before another delicious dinner  under the stars.

Day 6 -  Thursday


Rest day 2: Our last full day here starts with a pilates class followed by a leisurely breakfast  at the bushcamp.

We will spend the day at De Hoop beach or enjoying optional activities such as horse riding along the beach, canoeing in the lagoon etc.*

An evening pilates class will be followed by dinner at the bushcamp and enjoying the last evening together.


Day 7 - Friday


Departure: A last breakfast  at the bushcamp and a final fairwell to the lovely chalets and countryside. There will be a transfer to Cape Town International airport by air conditioned minibus.

This retreat will be available for a minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 10 people only.

Total cost: £730pp 

 

Price subject to major fluctuation in exchange rate.

Price includes:

  • Shared accommodation in thatched 2 roomed chalets with bathroom (bedding and towels will be provided by the bushcamp and the chalets will be cleaned daily).
  • Meals as per  itinerary
  • Transfers to and from Cape Town International Airport at allocated time only. All excursions with guide, day passes into reserve 10 x small group pilates classes.
  • Itinerary subject to change due to weather, with one extra excursion planned in case of bad weather.

  • Drinks (a bar tab can be set up)
  • Lunches out
  • Optional activities: horse riding, canoe rental, bicycle rental, entrance fees other than De Hoop Nature Reserve
  • Travel insurance
  • Laundry service
  • Flights are not included – you will need to make your own flight arrangements.
